Not sure why all this uproar against the PTTS. It's a tournament that lasts, what 5-6 weeks? The tarpon population is not going to diminish solely because of the PTTS. Do you know how many non-tournament fishermen head down to Boca to tarpon fish each and every week? Let's not place blame on one tournament that , by the way, brings a great amount of revenue to the local business.

Great point tippin! We also have to keep in mind tarpon fishing is almost 100% catch and release everywhere. There is no commercial fishing, no one keeping bag limits-accept for the occasional sportsman buying a tag to mount one. The population is thriving, and that's not going to change because of one little tournament series out of Boca Grande.

I don't see why this is such an issue. Just another reason for people to bitch about something. And the protestors that came out to the tournaments were rude. It's their right to protest, but to interfere in the tournament isn't right. And I've also heard they are calling sponsors of the tournament saying they will picket outside their businesses if they continue to support the PTTS. I would be very upset if I was a sponsor and would tell them to kiss my ass! We have to stand up to "bullies" and not take their crazy shit
