I am so sick of people saying that nothing can be done because of Crabtree! Isn't this America? If every person who complained about the closing of our fisheries would voice their opinion to their senator, sign a petition, join the FRA, etc then I know that we could make changes happen! Come on, I challenge each of you to take a step to help positive changes happen! I fish! I vote!

I'll be at this rally. Sitting home does nothing to change the way things are heading (for the worse). Gotta try to do something!

Grouper could be shut down for up to 2 years. I have several friends who are charter captains. This could severely affect the way they make their living. Come out & speak up for your rights!

Not only are they talking about closing grouper & American Red Snapper indefinitely. But they also have their sights on making the entire Gulf of Mexico a preserve where NO ONE could fish. Not you & your son, not the people who make their living chartering boats or commercial fishermen. If you fish & don't come to this rally then it's your own fault when they take these rights away from us! If you can't make it, then find out how to help - petitions, writing your congressman, etc. The FRA has a ton of info on their website about it.

This event is starting to get a lot of media coverage! Hoping there is going to be a huge turnout. I've heard estimates ranging from 3,000 to 7,000 people. Hope some of our politicians that made promises to local fishermen during re-election will live up to their word & support this!

The Rally was great! Really good speakers. Funny watching those from NMFS watching the rally from their windows. Disappointed more people didn't turn out for the event, but still several hundred of us out there with our posters helping our voices be heard!
